A brief critique on MP Tsering Lhamo

MP Tsering Lhamo was born in 1969 at Amdo Ngaba, Tibet. After graduating from school, worked as a Tibetan and Chinese translator at Political Session.

She came to exile in 1992 and worked at Tibet Policy Institute of the CTA as researcher, during which she translated several books. In 1999, she moved to Taiwan in 1999 and worked as a news reporter at Radio Free Asia for a year and at Voice of America for seven years.

After returning to India, she worked at Department of Security and subsequently at the Department of Information and International Relations as a website editor and the head of China desk for six years.

She was elected to the 16th TPiE from Dhomey Cholkha.

She came to the parliament at a time when DIIR Chinese Section was badly in need of Chinese expert to reach out to the Chinese counterpart yet she chose to be a member of parliament. Does her raising the need of Chinese language expert in the house make sense? Yet,  she has taken her stand on the mass protest by the people to the LS lead Kashag which is commendable as a representative of people.
