MP Migyur Dorjee was born in 1953 in Thoding, Utsang, Tibet. He did his schooling from CST, Darjeeling. He pursued his B.Com from St. Joseph’s College Darjeeling and did a short course in Public Administration at the State University of New York.
During his 37 years of service as a staff of CTA, he worked as the representative of Ladakh, secretary at Bureau office of Delhi and representative of the office of Tibet at London and South Africa. He also served as political secretary at Kashag, CTA.
During his tenure as Kadrung, he is known for his tall attitude that lacked empathy for desperate people who come to Gangkyi to get their problems heard.
He is a first timer in 16thTPiE elected from Utsang Cholkha. As a parliamentarian, he is often seen reminding the bumrampa led Kashag, about the working of the previous Kashag, who pays a deaf ear to them.
He took his stand on the mass protest by people who were against the decision to suspend former dhonchoe PT from the office. Standing by PT is the bravest thing he ever did in his life. As Malcolm X famously said a man who stands for nothing will fall for anything. He now needs to make LS accountable for his failure to live up to the expectations of the people and for taking the dreaming naïve people on a ride.
During his recent tour to Canada along with the controversial Tenpa Yarphel, his act as a leader of the team was way below the expectation of the people. Instead of taking the charge as head of the delegation, he was seen as weak giving ample opportunities to Tenpa Marphel, who people were not willing to receive leave aside listening to him.
Didn’t you feel the resentment of the people who are protesting wherever you went?
Did you write the full report on the protest that transpired in TY’s face? Do it and turn it in to the speaker. A mere word of mouth is not enough and that’s not the proper procedure. You know best about official procedures.
By attending the felicitation by Utsang Centrex to all those who have won a berth in both Kashag and Parliament, he has shown his pride in his root as Utsang.
